Parag Gupta (November 2024)

We’re endorsing Parag Gupta for the Board of Education. Parag is currently the Chief Program Officer at Mercy Housing, which helps families and seniors access affordable housing. 

Parag is focused on closing the opportunity gap in the student outcomes in SFUSD schools by  paying special attention to schools with the highest achievement gaps to provide the support they need.

Parag also does not support expanding charter schools because charter school expansion adversely impacts the financial stability of school districts.

With the experience of being on the School Site Council for 5 years at the Chinese Immersion School (CIS) at DeAvila, and having a kid in SFUSD, Parag has the expertise we need on the Board of Education. 

We follow the leadership of Coleman Action Fund – who works with students in the K-12 school system – for our Board of Education endorsements.
